Read full story →The Birth Mother Summit is a three-day homecoming for birth mothers — and everyone who loves them. Healing circles, real talk on open adoption, grief & joy, legal literacy, storytelling, art, rest and radical sisterhood.

Why we gather
About the Summit
Birth Mother Summit exists for one radical reason: birth mothers deserve to be centered, celebrated and supported — not just during pregnancy, but for life. We are birth-mother-led, adoptee-affirming and adoptive-family-inclusive.
No matter your story — infant adoption, kinship, foster care, open, semi-open or closed, recent placement or decades ago, parenting now or not — you belong. We talk about grief and joy, boundaries and reunion, shame and pride, relinquishment and reclamation.
Founded 2017 • Nonprofit community • Scholarship seats for every budget • Virtual access worldwide • ASL + captions • Childcare stipends
Every Summit opens with the Name Ceremony: we speak names of birth mothers, children, and the love that connects them. No anonymity unless you choose it.
Somatic workshops, EMDR info sessions, journaling, nature walks, postpartum care even years later. Healing is communal, not clinical alone.
Consent, revocation periods by state, open adoption agreements, navigating agencies, social media boundaries, reunion readiness toolkits.

Stories & Gallery
Shared with consent by our community. Faces blurred on request — stories never silenced.
“I placed in 2009 and never said the words ‘I’m a birth mother’ out loud until Summit. I whispered it Day 1. I shouted it on stage Day 3. My daughter now knows my voice.”
— Jess M., Ohio ♥“As an adoptive mom, the Listening Room wrecked me in the best way. We changed our entire open adoption approach. Our son’s birth mom is family, not a visitor.”
— Priya & Tom, Colorado ♥FAQ — Ask softly, we answer honestly
First time? Come as you are. No dress code, no perfect story, no pressure to share. 68% come solo and leave with sisters.
Birth mothers first. Always. Also welcoming: expectant parents considering adoption, adoptees, adoptive & waiting families, partners, grandparents, social workers. If you come to honor birth mothers — you’re welcome.
Never. Listening is participation. Sharing circles use consent cards (green = I want to share, yellow = maybe, red = just listening today). No one will call on you.
Strict no-photo zones, no recording in circles, first-names-only option, virtual blur backgrounds. What’s shared in circle stays in circle.
Sliding scale $49–$349 in-person, $39 virtual. Scholarships cover 30% of seats. No one turned away for funds — email our care team via contact section.
No. All faiths, no faith, all politics of love welcome. We don’t partner with agencies that coerce. We teach rights, not persuasion.
Yes! Full livestream, small-group video circles (max 8), chat support, replays for a year. Many virtual sisters say it felt just as intimate.
